The commit phase, what most call the "close" is really about partnership.

Handled well, commitment feels like the natural outcome, not a high-stakes decision.

To finish up all of the work you've done with your prospect, I like to wrap things up and launch a new relationship with what I call:

Instead of pushing for one big “yes,” walk your prospect through three smaller, ascending commitments:

 

1️⃣ Commitment to the Roadmap

πŸ’¬ “Does this roadmap feel like the right path based on everything you’ve shared?”

This checks for alignment and gives them space to voice any hesitation early.

 

2️⃣ Commitment to the First Working Session

πŸ’¬ “Great. Let’s go ahead and get your first working session scheduled so we can keep momentum.” 

This locks in a time, signals progress, and makes the relationship feel real.

 

3️⃣ Commitment to Payment Today

πŸ’¬ “To secure that time and officially get started, I’ll send over the paperwork and payment link now.”

By sequencing the commitment this way, payment becomes the logical conclusion—not a risky leap.
