The "Positioning Level Mini-Audit" Prompt

Use this prompt with ChatGPT:
"I want to determine if my consulting business is positioned in a 'category of one' or if I'm stuck in 'me too,' 'more me,' or 'better me' positioning. Please ask me these diagnostic questions one at a time:
POSITIONING ASSESSMENT:
1. When prospects ask what you do, what's your exact answer?
2. If I Google what you do, how many other consultants would I find offering essentially the same thing?
3. Complete this sentence: "I'm like [other consultant/firm], but..." - If you can complete that sentence, you're not category of one
4. Do prospects ever say: "How are you different from [competitor]?"
5. When you explain what you do, do people immediately understand it, or do you have to explain how you're different from others?
LANGUAGE TEST:
6. Do you use industry-standard terminology or your own unique language?
7. Have you named the problem you solve differently than how your market currently describes it?
8. Can someone explain what you do without comparing you to anyone else?
COMPARISON TEST:
9. When prospects are considering you, who else are they comparing you to?
10. Do you compete primarily on expertise, approach, or price?
11. If you raised your prices 100% tomorrow, would prospects still have no one else to compare you to?
RULE-BREAKING TEST:
12. What rule or conventional practice in your industry do you intentionally break?
13. What enrages you about how consulting is typically done?
14. What do you refuse to do that everyone else in your space does?
After I answer all questions, please tell me:
- Am I positioned as "Me Too" (same as everyone), "More Me" (more of the same), "Better Me" (better version of same), or "Category of One" (no comparison)?
- What's the primary evidence for this positioning level?
- What's the single biggest red flag preventing category of one positioning?
DO NOT provide solutions or frameworks. Just diagnose my current positioning level.
