How to Manage Your Flow of Thought to Increase Flow and Perform at Your Best

Uncategorized May 14, 2024

I'm writing this blog post over the next couple of days, starting Tuesday, May 14, 2023.

I'll be adding more each day throughout the week as we wrap this topic up and move on to the next flow.

Let's get started...

To perform at your very best, you must feel your very best, and that means you must get the first of nine flows in the Panta Rhei System™ working for you:

The flow of Thought

In this blog post, let's dive into exactly what the flow of thought is. We'll cover the other flows in future posts. First, let's take care of some important operation definitions.

What is "flow"?

There are two forms of flow.

Intrinsic (personal): This is an optimal state of consciousness where you feel your best and perform your best.

Extrinsic (business): This is an optimal state of process where value creation is streamlined, waste-free, and capable of producing high-quality consistently and flexibly, independent of the human or team elements involved.

What is "thought"?

Thought is the mental process of generating ideas, perceptions, and associations, often consciously, that shape an individual's understanding and response to their environment and experiences.

What is "consciousness"?

Consciousness is the state of being aware of and able to perceive one's own existence, thoughts, emotions, and the external world. It encompasses the spectrum of awareness, from basic wakefulness to higher levels of understanding, insight, and self-awareness.

The confluence of thought, consciousness, and intrinsic flow is where peak performance happens:

Since consciousness is essentially being "awake and aware" that leaves two things within our control; our thoughts and our physiological state.

Your flow of thought influences your physiological state and, therefore, your ability to reach intrinsic flow in two ways:

1. Focus and Alignment: When we manage our thoughts, we can reach a place of deep concentration, where our attention is fully directed towards the present moment and the task we are engaged in.

2. Amped-up Brain Power: When we reduce our flow of conscious thought to just the task at hand, we amplify cognitive abilities such as pattern recognition and information processing.

There are elements of better, more positive thoughts:

1. Awareness

2. The Emotional Whirlwind

3. Part-X

4. Beliefs

5. Choices

I'll expand on these tomorrow, so stay tuned and follow me on LinkedIn for more.
